The new-look Dart10k.

A classic, reimagined.

For nearly two decades the Dart 10k has been the UK's original marathon-distance swim: ten kilometres of wild, road-free river, winding through a stretch of Devon countryside you can only reach by water. Dart10k is the original rite of passage into the marathon swimmmers club. It earned its place on every open water swimmer's bucket list for a reason.

For 2027 it steps up again. A ferry now carries you upriver to a pontoon launch, starting in clearer, cleaner water. A better swim from the very first stroke, and it gets better the further you swim. This is the Dart at its very best.

The swimmers who experienced the new route this year haven't stopped talking about it. Places are expected to move fast, and the list is the only way to get ahead of the rush.

WHAT'S NEW?

A new route

Swimming from a fresh pontoon start in the Sharpham bends, past Dittisham and finishing in Dartmouth. A better swim from the very first stroke.

WHAT'S BETTER?

Clearer water

A fresh start, 3KM further downstream, in cleaner, clearer water. A scenic ferry ride upriver to see the whole route before swimming it.

WHAT'S UNCHANGED?

The same soul

The journey, the community, the giddy finish, the deckchairs and the hot chocolate. Still pure Dart.

Be first in the water.
