SwimTrek x Level Water
Swimming with turtles on a SwimTrek holiday
“Swimming in amazing places, for an amazing cause”
Some partnerships don’t need a formal handshake. They just work. And for us at Level Water, that’s exactly how it feels with SwimTrek.
We’ve been working together for years now - long enough that no one quite remembers when it started. What we do know is that it’s always felt natural. Easy. And full of shared purpose.
“It’s just a great fit,” says Ben from SwimTrek. “We both care about getting people outdoors, helping them push their boundaries, and doing it safely. That’s what it’s always been about.”
At Level Water, we provide 1-to-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities - helping them access the water, develop a life skill, and build confidence that reaches far beyond the pool. And at SwimTrek, the mission is all about creating incredible open water swimming experiences in some of the most breathtaking locations around the world. Different ends of the swimming journey - but powered by the same passion.
“The work Level Water does is incredible,” Ben continues. “And it’s inspiring for our community - people doing amazing swims, raising money, and knowing it’s helping kids learn to swim. That’s powerful.”
Bucket-Lists and Bigger-Picture Thinking
SwimTrek offers the kind of experiences you talk about for years. Classic swims in the Mediterranean. Island hopping in the Maldives, Philippines and Indonesia. Exploring the Galápagos. Remote coves and iconic swims across the UK and beyond.
And what makes them special isn’t just the setting - it’s the stories. The lone swimmer who took it on for the first time. The group of friends who trained together. The parent who completed a challenge to support their child. The fundraiser who swam 6km after only learning to swim last year.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s a 70km ultra-swim or your first Swoosh,” Ben says. “Everyone walks away with something - pride, stories, memories. And when that swim supports a cause like Level Water, it becomes even more meaningful.”
We’ve seen it first-hand: how people take on a SwimTrek adventure, then fundraise for us, share their story, and inspire the next generation to get in the water too.
Shared Values, Real Impact
This partnership works because we share more than just a love of swimming. We share a commitment to safety, to the environment, and to making sure every swimmer - from child to Channel-crosser - feels supported and respected.
“Every stakeholder has some accountability,” says Ian, founder of Level Water. “From us as organisers, to the swimmer choosing to fundraise - we all bring something to the table. That’s what makes it work.”
Beyond simply raising funds, SwimTrek actively looks for ways to open new doors for Level Water, from sharing expertise and data, to creating fundraising opportunities within their global community. Together, we’re exploring projects that give swimmers a chance to give back while shaping the future of open water swimming. It’s about using every connection, every event, and every idea to create ripples of opportunity that reach far beyond the water.
“We feel the support from your team and your community,” Ian continues. “It’s not just about sponsorship. It’s about sharing the journey.”
For the Love of Water
This partnership is also deeply personal. As Ben puts it: “Honestly? Level Water is my favourite charity to work with.” “It’s about swimming in amazing places, safely. Exploring opportunities you might never have thought of. And doing it all with respect - for the people around you, and the environment you’re in.”
That sentiment echoes across our community too. Whether you’re taking on the Bantham Swoosh, joining a SwimTrek adventure, or fundraising for the first time - you’re part of something bigger. Something full of connection, purpose, and joy.
“Whatever way we can work together - whether it’s Galápagos or the Hurly Burly - each swim tells a story,” says Ben. “And the story always comes back to people, to passion, and to doing something that matters.”
