Freddie the Joker

Freddie is ten and before every lesson he tells his teacher, Frankie, a joke. He told it to me too: what time to ducks wake up? At the quack of dawn!

Freddie has been swimming with Level Water for six years, and gets really excited before his lesson. Freddie often trips and falls due to the combination of his Cerebral Palsy and visual impairment. Swimming is his only physical activity outside of school, and the water helps him to relax his tight muscles. The social side of coming to the pool and being with Frankie is as important as the physical side. Freddie was just learning to swim independently on his back before Covid, but his confidence had a setback during the break and he's not back to where he was yet.
