The Bantham Boomerang is a unique “up and back” swim. It starts on the beach, swimming upstream with the incoming tide. Then when the tide turns, so do you, swooshing back to Bantham Beach. That’s two Swooshes for the price of one. Born from a sense of being at one with the water, this is much more of a journey than an event, with no fixed distance or time. This experience is something a bit different … to awaken the senses, feel the flow of the tide, and - for a few hours - to become a part of the river.
Depending on your start time, you can choose a swim duration of between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. Most people swim between 5km and 10km – it’s up to you.
